Hunting with Boone
By Jennifer Metzer
My husband Bryan and I have always taken our two children outdoors with us. When our oldest son decided that he liked fishing a lot better than hunting, we had to decide who would take Boone, our youngest son, into the field for our hunting ventures. Little did we know that Boone would turn out to be a good luck charm. Almost every time we took Boone with us, we saw a deer.
I remember taking him with me one morning while Bryan went to a built stand about 150 yards down the creek line. We sat on the ground under a huge oak tree facing up the creek. We sat for a while, but it seemed like forever, and I must say Boone was quieter than I could ever be. Sitting on tree roots is not exactly comfortable, but we didn't have a blind yet.
