Quest for a Turkey Grand Slam (Part III)

 Patience in the East

 By Teri Lancaster

(Editor’s note: This is the third and final installment in a series of Woman Hunter stories contributed by Teri Lancaster about her quest for a Turkey Grand Slam. So far, Teri has harvested an Osceola in Florida, and both a Rio Grande and a Merriam in Nebraska.)

After arriving home from our awesome trip to Nebraska, my husband Steve asks if I want to travel to New York to try and shoot an Eastern turkey in order to complete a Grand Slam. I had only just begun to realize that I was one successful hunt away from securing this prize, and New York is the only state with its Eastern season still open.

“Sure,” I tell him.
