For Xmas and I love it! It is an Weatherby SA-08 Semi Auto 12 gauge with the Mothwing camo pattern and weighs only 4 lbs. The downside to that is it kicks, so you have to really have the gun seated in the right place when shooting.
Anyone else get a new gun lately?

Yeah!! I got a mossberg 500 20g shotgun a couple of months ago and my hubby bought me a savage 10 in .243. Love shooting both of them!! Hoping to use the .243 for coyotes and deer, just have to work up a good load. I am tryiing to get him to pink camo it, but i think he is putting it off just so he can shoot it (not cool points to be shooting a pink gun at the range-for him that is) Can you weigh the stock of your shotgun to help with the kick? _________________ coyogirlmidtenn |

No new guns here yet. I have been trying to sell my older Mossberg 500 in 12g, and buy a newer camo version with 3 barrels - it's my go-to gun for deer (slugs), turkey and goose. I've found that the Mossberg seems to fit me better than the 870s or even the Benelli Nova. My other favorite fit is my Ithaca Featherlight in 12g - perfect upland gun, imho.
My newest gun is actually a gun from the early '80s - a Ruger 30-06 which my Dad gave me just before he died. It's hardly been fired and pretty much in new condition. I haven't used it yet as I haven't had the chance to rifle hunt for several years since my son was born.
Am lusting after some coyote medicine to use around here - neither hubby or I have anything legal for on the local farms except our shotguns or .22 - neither of which will really reach out and touch them very well. Maybe something like the Rem. 700 VTR in 22-250? Dreaming.... |

Not sure about weighting , but I can handle the kick if it is seated properly.
We use our .243 for the coyotes and I use a .260 for deer. My husband and I love buying guns for each other. He got me the Ruger .260 a long time ago and that has to be my favorite.
We just saw a Rem 700 22-250 at the gun show last weekend, the guy was selling it and 100 rounds of ammo for $500. What a deal! |
